Ulcerate are undoubtedly one of the most significant names in the death metal world of the last several years. They are characterized by their uncompromising nature, a style that can be sensed from a mile away, and pure frenzy - free from trends, niceties and hit-or-miss by force. Their death metal drips with anxiety, sparkles with dissonance at virtually every turn and exudes sheer evil. Selbst also searches in the darkest recesses of the extremes and you are unlikely to call them an assimilable lineup. The Venezuelan band plays piercingly intense black metal that draws from prog or post-metal in all its clutter and piss-poor venom.
