If modern metal is your thing, you must turn out in crowds at the capital's Progresja on February 9. On this frosty evening your hearts will be warmed by The Halo Effect, Pain and Bloodred Hourglass.

Seemingly a fairly new signboard, but it includes veterans themselves. The Halo Effect plays melodic death metal, and since the formation's musicians are experts in melodic death metal, it can't be bad. Besides, what would you say - 80% of the lineup has been terminated in In Flames over the years, and the rest (i.e. vocalist, Mikael Stanne) is the voice of the equally legendary Dark Tranquility. Expect from them - this probably won't come as a surprise - a phenomenal sense of melody, a hard rhythmic backbone and the hits themselves.

Pain also focuses on hits, but in a different form - much more disco and cyber. After all, the term “cyber metal” didn't come out of nowhere. In the zero years, hardly any metal party was held without the number “Shut Your Mouth.” Peter Tägtgren knows exactly how to extract everything earworm from industrial and electro and turn it into metal riffs. You will dance a lot at this concert, we promise!

Finland's Bloodred Hourglass practices model-arranged melodic death metal by current compositional standards. In addition to their meaty sound, they feature equally meaty grooves, tearful guitar parts and - when necessary - properly measured sprinting.
